SHINDER'S LIST

Schindler's List is an American film that was released in 1993, it was directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Universal Pictures and written by Steven Zaillian. The music is by John Williams. It is based on the 1982 novel Schindler's Ark by Australian novelist Thomas Keneally. The cast was Liam Neeson as Schindler, Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Göth, and Ben Kingsley as Schindler's Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern. In 1993 the film won a wide variety of awards including 7 oscars, 3 golden globes, 7 BAFTA awards and National Board of Review declared the best film

The film tells about Oskar Schindler, a rich German gentleman, heavy drinker and smoker, with a great sex appeal and industrialist who works for Nazis because he needed power, but he doesn’t follow their ideology. Oskar during the film was an egocentric person but during the film he converts to worldcentric. In the film, he  saved more than a thousand mostly Jewish refugees from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories in Kraków. He makes false passports to take them to work because they are cheaper than the Polish boys. He values their workers a lot and he saves them many times from the dead with the help from Itzhak Stern. When he makes the list, he remembers all the names of the workers. Their factories started producing kitchen utensils but then switched to weapons and ammunition for the Nazi’s military.

This film is one of a kind and simply amazing. The way it’s directed is amazing, the film is so symmetric and solid. The actors performed amazingly, even though it was already expected from Liam Neeson, an amazing actor. The soundtrack is perfectly synced and very well fit for each scene. Obviously for the setting it’s perfect as the film starts just at the beginning of the second world war in the center of events, in Germany. Regarding the special effects, it’s very hard to notice that they aren’t real. The script is perfect and superb, as the story reaches your heart and it’s gripping. The lighting isn’t much regarded as almost the whole film is in black and white.

To conclude, the film is amazing but obviously not for everyone, as the scenes can be a bit gore-like, so people from the sensible public should stay away from it. This film is a bit sad and thought-provoking as while you’re watching it you’ll think how it is possible that humans can do these things to themselves. If you are not sensible, it doesn’t matter if you like or not the 2nd world war, you must watch this film as it's a masterpiece.
